Mangaluru: Newly appointed bishop Dr. Fr. Peter Paul Saldanha would be ordained at Rosario Cathedral here on September 15 at 9:30 AM.
On July 3, Vatican confirmed the appointment of Fr. Saldanha to the post of Bishop of Mangaluru by Pope Francis. Dr. Fr. Peter Paul Saldanha will replace current Bishop Rev. Dr. Aloysious Paul D’Souza who has served the diocese for 22 years.
A committee has been formed to organise the episcopal ordination with present bishop Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza as its Chairman. Rector of Rosario Cathedral Fr. J B Crasta is the convenor and Diocese Pastoral Parishad Secretary M P Noronha is the co-convenor for the event. The public relations would be handled by Fr. Vijay Victor Lobo, said sources.
It is gathered that apostolic nuncio from New Delhi, cardinals, bishops, clergymen, religious nuns and thousands of faithful from the diocese and also outside are expected to participate in the festivities.
