Bengaluru: The Rev Kittel Foundation recognised ten achievers in various fields namely, B Ramamurthy (Film), Marie Joseph (Literature), Ramakanth Tv5 Anchor (Journalism), Martin Das (Sports), C. S. Dwarkanath (Social Activist), Dr Smitha (Victoria Hospital) (Health Worker), Eshwaramurthy (Educationist), Ashwini SI Pulakeshinagara Police Station (Public Service), Ronald Colaco (Philanthropist) and CUPA (NGO).
The Award ceremony was held on Saturday, 26 November 2022, at the Gandhi Bhavan, Kumara Park East, Bengaluru. The Awards were conferred by Nidumamdi Mutt Seer, His Holiness Sri Veerabhadra Channamalla Swamiji, Justice BV Pinto (Rtd), Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka, and Shri Bhaskar Rao IPS (Rtd), Former Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru.
is Holiness Sri Veerabhadra Channamalla Swamiji, said that Kittel’s love for Kannada was unlimited. He also said the advent of missionaries had changed our nation tremendously.
Rev. Ferdinand Kittel, B. L. Rice, Mogling, and many other Christian missionaries who came to preach the Gospel, later on, fell in love with Karnataka and Kannada and contributed towards its development
Speaking at the award-giving ceremony by Rev. Kittel Foundation , he said that these awards should not be limited to a District, State or Nation; we must identify those who serve Kannada and take the development to new heights.
Retired Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao said that Kittel’s Kannada dictionary was used a lot. Kittel gets the credit for introducing Kannada into the world. He is also known as a dear servant of Kannada.
Former High Court Judge B. V. Pinto was the Chief Guest.
The programme was attended by Rev. Ferdinand Kittel Foundation President Anthony Vikram, Vice President Solomon Raju and General Secretary Francis Shanthkimar and all patrons and members of the Association.
