Mangaluru: St Anthony’s Ashram, Jeppu and ‘Yuva Mitr’ Mangaluru, jointly organised a half-day guidance seminar for the unemployed youth on September 28 at the Ashram.
Anil Lobo, Chairman of the M.C.C. Bank, was the chief guest of the day.
In his message, Lobo encouraged the youth to capitalize on the qualities of honesty and hard work. “These good qualities add value to the qualification,” he said. He extended his full support and co-operation in fulfilling the dreams of those youth who are aspiring to get employed.
Fr Onil D’Souza, Director of the Ashram, in his message, said that it is sad to note that so many youths are unemployed after completing their studies. “They still have to depend on their parents or well-wishers to live. But it is heartening to see that a large number of youths have responded to the call and are participating in the seminar,” he said.
He mentioned examples of a few individuals who have become success stories and who provide employment to others. He then called on the assembled youth to seize whatever opportunity comes their way and start earning until they get the job of their desire.
Earlier Fr Thrishan D’Souza the Asst Director of Ashram invoked God’s blessings on the seminar.
Stanley D’Cunha the proprietor of Anvita Photography-Ancita Videography and the vice-coordinator of Mangalore Mitr welcomed the guests. John D’Souza compered the programme.
Sailor Leslie Crasta, sea diver turned-successful entrepreneur Gratian Pais, Vincent D’Souza, IDBI Branch Manager, Udupi and Santhosh Crasta were the resource persons. As many as 150 youths over the age of 18 years from near and far participated in the seminar.
