Mangaluru: To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Holy Cross Church in Kulshekar, the Parish organized a half-day Youth Programme called “Yuva Cordel” on August 6. The event saw active participation from 113 youth. MFC’s Chris Crasta delivered a talk on ‘Drug abuse and Youth,’ and Noam shared his transformative testimony, highlighting his journey towards a life free from addiction. Vandana D’Souza, a lecturer at Roshni Nilaya, shared her insights on ‘Mental Health and Spirituality.’
Corrine Rasquinha, the Founder of White Doves, delivered the final talk of the day, captivating the Youth with her singing and sharing her compelling personal journey guided by God. She encouraged the youth to take a proactive stance, urging them to create positive changes in their lives and subsequently impact the lives of others.
The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Clifford Fernandes, attended and inaugurated the program. In his inaugural address, he highlighted the youth’s role in shaping today’s society. The event saw the presence of Ruth Castelino, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council; Anil D’Sa, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council; Dolphy D’Souza, Co-ordinator of the 21 Commissions; Renita Aranha, Co-ordinator of Yuva Cordel; and the Organizing Team. Sweedal Mendonca served as the program’s compere, while Anil D’Sa extended the vote of thanks.
