Awareness about hepatitis disease through Jatha

Bidar: On August 7th, a public awareness Jatha about hepatitis disease was conducted here on behalf of the health department.  Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer, Shilpa M explained the importance of going to the nearest hospital and getting treatment immediately if the symptoms of the disease are found.

While speaking at the launch of the awareness drive organized by the Bidar District Health and Family Welfare Department as part of World Hepatitis Day on Monday, she said that the aim is to prevent, control, and make India hepatitis free by 2030.

Hepatitis can be completely cured with the right treatment at the right time. District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr. Rathikanta V Swamy said that there are five types of Hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E. Mainly six types of preventive measures should be taken to keep this disease under control.

Preventive measures like controlling our life style and our daily activities, living a disciplined life, getting hepatitis vaccine, especially newborn baby, health workers are at high risk of this infection, use of safe blood and blood products, safe injection and use of safe water, clean toilet and hygiene. He said that free check-up and treatment are available in government hospitals for this disease. In the program Dapro officers Dr. Sharaniya Swamy gave information about the program.
