Karkala: On Tuesday morning, a remarkable delivery took place in a 108 ambulance as a pregnant woman gave birth while en route to the hospital.
The woman, from Eedu village, began experiencing intense labor pain around 9:30 AM. Her family promptly contacted the 108 ambulance service. An ambulance arrived quickly, transporting her from her home to the government hospital in Karkala. However, due to the urgency of her condition, she gave birth in the ambulance before reaching the hospital.
The delivery was assisted by the ambulance’s medical personnel, including Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Devaki and pilot Eeranna, who ensured both mother and baby were safely delivered. Upon reaching the hospital, both mother and child were reported to be in stable condition.
The quick response of the ambulance service and the effective on-board medical care were crucial in ensuring a safe delivery under challenging circumstances.
The incident highlights the critical role of emergency services in providing timely and effective care, especially in urgent situations.
