At least 22 students from a government school in Narayanpet district, Telangana, were hospitalized on Tuesday after experiencing symptoms like headaches, stomach aches, and vomiting. The students had consumed a mid-day meal at Zilla Parishad High School in Maganoor, and officials are investigating whether the meal is linked to their illness.

In addition to the school lunch, the affected students had also eaten snacks from nearby bakeries and shops. Preliminary reports from the District Educational Officer (DEO) mention that samples from the food have been sent for laboratory testing.

The incident occurred around 3:30 pm, when the students began feeling unwell after lunch. Over 400 students, along with school staff and district authorities, had the mid-day meal that day. One student reported that the potatoes and brinjal served were poorly cooked, while another complained of stomach pain. Doctors confirmed that all the hospitalized students were stable after receiving treatment.

This incident follows a similar case on November 20, when 17 students from the same school were also hospitalized after consuming a mid-day meal. District authorities are investigating all possible causes of the students’ illnesses.
