Nutritionist Lovneet Batra has shared a list of five summer-friendly foods that naturally aid digestion and help the body cope with seasonal heat.

In an Instagram post, she addresses common summer complaints like bloating, acidity, and heaviness, suggesting easy additions to your diet that are light, cooling, and fibre-rich.

1. Ginger:
Known for easing nausea, ginger also stimulates digestion, reduces cramps, and accelerates stomach emptying. Thanks to gingerol, it improves gut motility and helps clear food quickly from the stomach.

2. Fennel Seeds:
Traditionally chewed after meals, fennel cools the digestive tract, alleviates bloating, and relaxes intestinal muscles. Rich in antioxidants, fennel also helps detox the system and ease gas.

3. Cumin:
Cumin supports bile production and releases enzymes that help break down food. Jeera water, a popular home remedy, is particularly effective for reducing gas and indigestion.

4. Mint:
Cooling and fragrant, mint boosts digestive enzyme release and soothes inflammation. Menthol, found in mint, eases acidity and promotes relaxation. Add it to chutneys, buttermilk, or fruit for extra zing.

5. Sabja Seeds:
Packed with omega-3s and fibre, sabja seeds help regulate bowel movements and manage acidity. Soaking them in water or adding to cool drinks is both refreshing and gut-friendly.

Lovneet suggests mixing these ingredients into teas, chutneys, or infused drinks to stay cool and maintain digestive health all summer long.
