On May 4, 2025, Bethany Jeevandhara, in association with the Health, Women, and Family Commissions and the Bethany Lay Association, conducted a comprehensive and cost-free health check-up camp at Holy Cross Church, Cordel. The event aimed to enhance health awareness, detect common illnesses early, and provide essential medical services to underserved individuals.

The camp saw the participation of 15 doctors and medical staff from Father Muller Charitable Medical Hospital, offering services across various specialties including:

  • General medicine (blood pressure, sugar levels)

  • Eye care

  • Pediatrics

  • Dermatology

  • Gynecology (OBG)

  • ECG testing

  • Orthopedics

  • Led by Dr Kelvin Pais and coordinated by Dr Caroline Pais, the event was inaugurated by Fr Clifford Fernandes in the presence of local parish leaders like Ruth Castelino, Dolphy D’Souza, and several commission representatives. Sr Reena Juliet, director of the Jeevandhara Centre, also graced the occasion.

Over 300 individuals attended, many of whom were diagnosed with minor conditions and provided with free medication and advice. General physicians, pediatricians, and eye specialists ensured thorough evaluations.

The camp was met with enthusiastic public response, with many requesting more such community initiatives. It proved to be a model of compassionate service and collaborative outreach, making a lasting impact on public health in the region.
