Mangaluru: In response to the growing demand for professional home care services, Indiana Hospital and Heart Institute has partnered with Critical Care Unified (CCU) to introduce an extensive home healthcare program. This new service will cover the Mangaluru region and extend up to northern Kerala, offering a wide range of medical care within the comfort of patients’ homes.

The initiative provides a one-stop solution for various healthcare needs, including equipment, consumables, doctors, nurses, attendants, physiotherapists, and lab and radiological tests. It also features specialized services such as ICU at home, cancer, cardiac, and stroke care, oxygen and medical equipment provision, and Covid-19 testing, as stated by Dr. Yusuf Kumble, managing director of Indiana Hospital.

Dr. Kumble highlighted that home healthcare, particularly for elderly and immobile patients, can reduce unnecessary hospital visits by up to 65%, significantly lowering hospital costs. The structured approach of CCU, which already offers ICU-level home services in ten Indian cities and one international location, ensures quality and affordable care.

Ravi Shankar Upadhyay, vice president and business head of CCU, emphasized the importance of continuity of care post-discharge, making this service ideal for palliative and geriatric patients. Dr. Aproorva Sahadev, medical director, and Vijay, CEO of the hospital, were also present at the announcement.
