On August 8, the Manipal College of Dental Sciences (MCODS), Mangalore, inaugurated a cutting-edge AI-enabled contactless oral examination kiosk, a pioneering technology in the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts. This innovative kiosk, known as ScanO, aims to revolutionize oral healthcare by offering advanced dental diagnostics without physical contact.

Dr. Ashita Uppoor, Dean of MCODS, Mangalore, welcomed the gathering and expressed pride in acquiring this groundbreaking technology. She highlighted the significance of integrating advanced AI with traditional dental practices to enhance patient care and set new standards in dental diagnostics.

Dr. Anand Venugopal, COO of teaching hospitals at Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), served as the Chief Guest, praising the kiosk’s ability to make dental diagnostics more efficient and accessible. He emphasized the role of ScanO in streamlining the diagnostic process, thus improving the overall quality of care.

Dr. Dilip G. Naik, Pro Vice-Chancellor of MAHE, Mangalore Campus, commended the real-time diagnostics and intuitive interface of ScanO. He emphasized MCODS’s leadership in adopting advanced technology to elevate patient care standards.

Dr. Unnikrishnan, Dean of Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Mangalore, lauded the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative behind ScanO, underscoring the potential of AI in transforming oral health services.

Dr. Vidhi Bhanushali, CEO and Co-Founder of ScanO, highlighted the kiosk’s features, including instant report delivery to users’ phones, ensuring prompt and informed healthcare decisions. She noted the growing patient preference for clinics embracing digital technologies.

The event concluded with Dr. Junaid Ahmed, Associate Dean of MCODS Mangalore, encouraging the dissemination of information about ScanO to maximize its reach and spread awareness about the importance of oral health.
