Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a heartfelt moment with a young boy during his visit to Bhavnagar on September 20, when the child broke into tears while presenting his painting of the PM.
The emotional interaction
Ravi Sanjaybhai Parmar, a student from Nagdhaniba village, had drawn a portrait of PM Modi and brought it to the event. Standing near the stage, Ravi became emotional, overwhelmed by the crowd and the opportunity to meet the Prime Minister. Spotting him, PM Modi approached with a smile and said:
“A little child has made a painting and has been standing here for a long time. His hands must be hurting. Someone please collect it from him. Well done, son, don’t cry. I’ve received your painting. If there’s an address written on it, I will surely write you a letter. What greater treasure can there be in life than a child’s love?”

The Prime Minister’s kind gesture reassured the boy, making him feel recognised and valued.
Ravi’s reaction and journey to the stage
Ravi told Divya Bhaskar that his family had doubted anyone would accept his painting. “I drew Modi Saheb’s picture and brought it with me. I am very happy that he accepted it. At home, everyone told me that no one would take my painting,” he said.
He added that some police officers had assisted him in reaching near the stage, which allowed the PM to personally receive his painting. “The way he accepted my painting in front of everyone, it felt like he honoured me. I hope he honours other children in the same way,” Ravi said.
Collector’s daughter also participates
Jesmika Bansal, daughter of the Bhavnagar Collector, gifted her own painting — a portrait of PM Modi’s late mother, Heeraba. The Prime Minister accepted and viewed it during the event, creating another memorable moment for attendees.
Earlier emotional moment in Ahmedabad
This was not the first such incident during PM Modi’s Gujarat visits. On August 25, during a roadshow in Nikol, Ahmedabad, a woman, Vilasba Bhupendrasinh Sisodia, became overwhelmed while performing aarti to welcome the PM. Tears streamed down her face as Modi passed by, and he acknowledged her devotion by folding his hands and bowing in respect.
Such moments highlight the personal connection PM Modi often shares with citizens during public events, reflecting his focus on engaging with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Conclusion
The Bhavnagar interaction between PM Modi and Ravi Sanjaybhai Parmar has become a viral instance of the Prime Minister’s empathetic outreach. By personally acknowledging children’s efforts and small gestures of love, such moments emphasise the human side of political leadership and inspire citizens across the country.
