For millions, the sight of a needle sparks fear—especially among children. While injections remain a common drug delivery method, Pune-based IntegriMedical is changing that. Established in 2020 by Sarvesh Mutha, Ankur Naik, Scott McFarland, and Mark Timm, the med-tech firm has created N-FIS, a needle-free, spring-powered injector that uses a high-pressure jet to administer medicine without piercing the skin.
The idea stemmed from Mutha’s experience in the healthcare sector, where he recognized how needle phobia often leads patients to avoid essential treatments, while also posing injury and infection risks to healthcare professionals. The team set out to create a pain-free, safe, and sustainable solution.
The N-FIS device, approved by CDSCO and launched in April 2024, uses a disposable cartridge with a microscopic nozzle to inject medication in under 0.1 seconds, reducing pain and medical waste. Certified by CE, ISO 13485, MDSAP, and patented in the US, it has already been used in treating over 40,000 patients in 30+ Indian cities and adopted by hospitals like KEM, Cloudnine, and Apollo Cradle.
IntegriMedical operates on a B2B model, targeting clinics and hospitals. With monthly revenue doubling and expanding global interest, including adoption in a major Hungarian pediatric hospital, its growth is accelerating.
Backed by the Serum Institute of India, which took a 20% stake in May 2024, the startup plans to expand across India and internationally. “We’re not just removing needles—we’re removing fear from healthcare,” Mutha concludes.
