Renowned Japanese food challenge YouTuber Yuka Kinoshita has officially stepped away from competitive eating, citing health struggles. The mukbang sensation, who boasts over 5.2 million followers, revealed her decision in a heartfelt video, marking the end of a decade-long journey in the world of extreme consumption.

Kinoshita gained widespread fame after competing in The Battle of Big Eaters in 2009. Though she didn’t secure victory, her ability to devour enormous portions despite her petite figure captivated audiences. In 2014, she launched her YouTube channel, where she frequently tackled massive food challenges, drawing millions of views.

In her latest update, she confessed that her body could no longer endure the strain of excessive eating. “I’m retiring from consuming large amounts. As I approach 40, my energy levels have declined, and it has become increasingly difficult to maintain this lifestyle,” she shared. She admitted feeling exhausted even without overeating, signaling that her body needed rest.

Throughout her career, Kinoshita astonished viewers by devouring up to 20,000 calories in a single session—ranging from 600 fried chicken pieces to 100 burgers. Despite her extreme diet, she maintained a weight of just 47 kg.

Fans flooded the comments section with appreciation, sharing how her videos helped them rediscover their love for food. Many expressed hope that she would continue creating content in a new format.
