Thiruvananthapuram: At least 400 CRPF jawans posted at the Pallipuram unit in the capital city suburbs were taken ill reportedly due to food poisoning on Saturday.

While 200 of them have been admitted at the Medical College hospital, the rest have been admitted at a hospital near the unit.

“The condition of four was a bit serious when they arrived here, but they have quickly responded to the treatment,” the hospital superintendent said.

Most of the jawans were trainees who had come from different parts of the nation, and it is being said that those who consumed the fish during the dinner fell ill.
