Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had a meeting with the Mysuru District JDS President Narasimha Swamy and requested him to extend support and canvass for the party candidates.
Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, Siddaramaiah said that he had called upon Swamy to extend his support to Congress candidates as the JD(S) party is not contesting the by-elections. “Swamy and I are good old friends. It was just a casual meeting after the campaigning and I appealed to him to extend his support to our candidates Kalale Keshavamurthy and Geeta Mahadeva Prasad.”
He also mentioned that BJP was making false allegations against him that he was against Dalit and Lingayat communities. “I want to make it clear that I am not against any community. These allegations are common during elections. I believe in humanity and I respect human values.”
H Vishwanath Joins Congress campaign at High Commands behest:
Senior Congress leader H Vishwanath said, “Siddaramaiah did not invite me to campaign for the Congress candidates. But as per the directions of the party high command and the KPCC, I campaigning for our candidates.”
Dr Yathindra’s car seized:
On Satuday, the election officers seized a car belonging to Chief Minister’s son Yathindra Kumar at Gundlupet for not taking permission to campaign in Gundlupet. Election officials had given permission to use his car in the Nanjangud constituency and not in Gundlupet and therefore, it was seized at a special check post set-up near Hirikati village near Begur.
Even Home Minister’s car not spared:
Police officials even checked Home Minister Paramsehwar’s car at a check post near Nanjangud.
