Madhya Pradesh: While the country is reeling under numerous reports of rape, another such shocking incident has been reported from Neemuch town in Madhya Pradesh, on Saturday, December 14, where an eight-year-old daughter was raped by her own father who was in an inebriated state.
According to sources in the police department, the minor was raped at her residence by her drunken father, a labourer. The shocking incident came to light after police received a complaint on the child helpline service.
Chief Superintendent of Police Rakesh Mohan Shukla said that the complainant, who called the child helpline, stated that the father would repeatedly beat the minor every day in the evening. When the police visited the residence, they were only able to find the victim, he informed.
Statements recorded by the child counsellor during the counselling session with the minor victim were assessed by the police.
Medical tests also proved that the minor was raped.
Meanwhile, the police have filed a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to carry out an investigation.
