Amaravati: In a tragic incident, a man lost his life after a country-made bomb unexpectedly exploded inside his mouth in Gaddamvaripalli village, located in the Bangarupalyam mandal of Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh.

The incident took place during the late hours on Monday, shocking the local community. The injured man was promptly rushed to a nearby hospital; however, he was later pronounced dead. Local authorities registered an ‘Accidental Death Report’ (ADR) in connection with the unfortunate incident.

According to a report from The Times of India, the victim was identified as M Chiranjeevi, a resident of Gaddamvaripalli. Police officials, including Bangarupalyam CI Nagaraju Rao, revealed that Chiranjeevi had been enduring a difficult period in his life. He had recently engaged in a heated argument with his wife, who subsequently left their home. This personal crisis left him feeling dejected and prompted him to turn to alcohol as a means of coping.

The local authorities shared that Chiranjeevi was inebriated when he made the tragic decision to chew on the country-made bomb, which eventually exploded in his mouth, causing severe facial injuries. The explosion was loud enough to alert his neighbors, who quickly reported the incident to the police. After arriving at Chiranjeevi’s residence, the authorities rushed him to a medical facility. Sadly, the doctors were unable to save him, and Chiranjeevi was declared dead. His lifeless body was subsequently taken for a post-mortem examination.

The local police have launched an investigation to uncover the circumstances that led to this tragic incident. They are also focusing on determining how and why Chiranjeevi came into possession of the country-made bomb in the first place.

This incident serves as a somber reminder of the potential dangers and risks associated with handling explosive devices, even in situations where alcohol or emotional distress may cloud judgment. The local community and authorities are undoubtedly deeply affected by this unfortunate incident. Such events underscore the importance of safety and responsible behavior, especially in the presence of hazardous materials.
