Rural Success Story: From Village to Scientist

In a remarkable achievement, a man hailing from a remote village in Jharasangam Mandal has cracked the Agriculture Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) examination. B Srisailam, aged 27 and a resident of Kamalpally in Jharasangam, emerged successful in the ASRB exam, the results of which were declared recently.

Background

Born to a farmer couple, Bargaiah and Manemma, Srisailam is the youngest among three sons. His educational journey began at a local government school in his village, where he completed his schooling up to Class 10.

Educational Pursuits

Initially aspiring to become a doctor, Srisailam pursued his intermediate education in a corporate school with government assistance. Despite his ambition to study medicine, he was unable to secure an MBBS seat. Subsequently, he enrolled in a BSc (Agriculture) program at the Agriculture College in Ashwaraopet.

Academic Milestones

His academic journey continued as he successfully cleared the national-level post-graduate entrance examination, leading him to pursue post-graduation at Banaras Hindu University. Furthering his academic pursuits, he obtained a PhD from Acharya NG Ranga Agriculture University in 2023.

Professional Experience

While preparing for competitive examinations, Srisailam began his professional career as an Assistant Professor at a private agriculture college in Hyderabad.

Career Aspirations

In an interview with Telangana Today, Srisailam expressed his aspirations to revolutionize farming practices, aiming to make agriculture more profitable while minimizing the use of pesticides. He is set to assume the role of a Krishi Vigyan Kendra Scientist at the Research Centre for North Eastern Himalayan Region, an ICAR institute located in Arunachal Pradesh.

Parental Pride

His parents, Bargaiah and Manemma, are understandably proud of his achievements, with Bargaiah expressing his joy and pride in his son’s accomplishments.
