Amaravati: Y.S. Sharmila, the sister of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, has sent a Christmas gift to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) General Secretary Nara Lokesh.
Lokesh expressed his gratitude by sharing a photo of the gift on social media, stating, “Please accept my heartfelt thanks for the wonderful Christmas gifts. Nara family wishes you and your family Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
Nara Lokesh is the son of TDP supremo and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. This thoughtful gesture by Sharmila comes at a significant juncture, just ahead of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections scheduled to be held concurrently with the Lok Sabha polls in April-May next year.
It’s worth noting that Sharmila had actively campaigned for her brother during the 2019 elections. However, in 2021, amid reports of differences, she launched the YSR Telangana Party. Despite this, Sharmila chose not to contest the recent Assembly elections in Telangana, citing her intention to avoid a split of anti-BRS (Bathukamma, Rajanna, Sankranti) votes. The exchange of Christmas greetings adds an interesting dimension to the political landscape as the elections draw near.
