Arunachal Pradesh’s highway washed away much of its length due to a massive landslide, making it difficult to travel by road to the district of Dibang Valley, which borders China. Because of the recent intense rains, the district saw numerous landslides yesterday on National Highway-33 between Hunli and Anini, according to authorities.
In order to fix the damaged sections of the highway, the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) has mobilized resources. There is no shortage of food or other necessities at the moment.
For both the army and the people living in the district, NH-33 is regarded as essential.
The state government has issued a travel advisory and said the restoration exercise will take at least three days.
