New Delhi/Srinagar: Union Minister for Railways, Communications and Electronics & IT Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday announced the launch of daily time-tabled parcel services connecting the Kashmir Valley with Delhi.

The initiative is aimed at boosting trade, ensuring faster movement of goods, and providing a reliable logistics option for local producers and businesses in the region.

Vaishnaw said the service will particularly benefit farmers, horticulture producers, artisans, and traders, helping them transport perishable and non-perishable goods to the national capital in a cost-effective and time-bound manner.

The service will operate on a fixed daily schedule, offering predictability for businesses and ensuring timely delivery of consignments.

This move is part of the government’s broader efforts to enhance rail connectivity, trade opportunities, and economic integration of Jammu & Kashmir with the rest of India.
