The Third Additional District and Sessions Court in Mangaluru refused bail to Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Commissioner Mansoor Ali and broker Muhammad Saleem, who were apprehended by the Mangaluru Lokayukta Police on March 23 on charges of accepting a bribe of Rs. 25 lakh from a businessman.

Arrest and Charges

The Lokayukta Police nabbed the MUDA Commissioner and the broker while they were receiving the bribe at the Mangala Stadium in exchange for a Transferable Development Rights Certificate.

Judicial Custody

Following their arrest, the court ordered judicial custody for both accused individuals until April 8.

Bail Pleas Rejected

Despite filing for bail, the pleas of MUDA Commissioner Mansoor Ali and broker Muhammad Salim were dismissed after arguments were presented before Judge Sandhya S. The prosecution was led by public prosecutor Ravindra Mannipadi on behalf of the Lokayukta police.
