Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced an eye-catching Freedom Offer as part of its initiative to promote its indigenous 4G network under the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission. Aimed exclusively at new customers, the offer includes:

  • Unlimited voice calls (local & STD)

  • 2GB of 4G data per day (post-limit speed at 40kbps as per FUP)

  • 100 SMS messages per day

  • New SIM card for just Re 1

    • This promotional offer is valid until August 31, 2025, and can only be availed at BSNL retail stores or Common Service Centres (CSCs). It is not available to existing users, and availability through BSNL’s SIM delivery service has not been confirmed.

    Speaking on the launch, BSNL CMD A Robert J. Ravi stated that the offer showcases BSNL’s homegrown 4G technology, placing India among the few countries with a fully indigenous telecom stack. He added that BSNL is deploying 1 lakh 4G towers nationwide to improve rural and remote connectivity.

    With competing private players offering similar plans starting at ₹349–₹399, BSNL’s Re 1 Freedom Offer is a limited-time, entry-level plan aimed at attracting new users and boosting confidence in its 4G rollout.
