New Delhi: An army jawan has now emerged as a key suspect in the Bulandshahr violence that resulted in the death of Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh.

A police official from the Meerut Zone told a national news portal that a few of the villagers alleged that Jeetu Fauji, a soldier, was the one who killed the inspector.

The official informed that Jeetu’s relatives confirmed that he was present at the time of the violence and added that he left for Jammu and Kashmir after the incident. His mother, on the other hand, maintains that she is unable to identify her son from the videos of the attack.

He also stated that a team had been sent to nab the soldier, a resident of Mahaw village, currently posted in Jammu and Kashmir. He then stated that, as of now, the soldier would be taken into custody on the basis of doubt and that he would be questioned to ascertain whether or not the bullet that killed the inspector, was fired by him.

The police have so far arrested four persons in connection with the killings. However, Bajrang Dal leader Yogesh Raj, the main accused is absconding.
