Buxar (Bihar): Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Ashwini Choubey recently went viral, thanks to a video being shared on social media, where he is seen in a quarrel with a government official for stopping his convoy for allegedly violating the model code of conduct (MCC).

The incident is reported to have occurred on Saturday, March 30 night. In the video, Choubey is seen sitting in the front seat of his vehicle and arguing with a government official who is trying to inform him of the election commission’s order.

The sitting MP and BJP candidate from Buxar can be heard daring the official, “Send me to jail if you have to do something. This is my vehicle and you cannot seize it.” The official then tells the minister that as per the order, they must confiscate the vehicles and not the individual.

In response to the incident, sub district magistrate K K Upadhyay told reporters that action would be taken in accordance with the law. Vehicles were not given permission to park at the Zila Maidan, however, it was found that around 30 to 40 vehicles were parked there, he informed, adding that a case would be registered for each of the vehicles that were in the convoy.
