A 16-year-old Class 11 student from Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad died after falling from a zipline ride at an amusement park in Agra’s Chaupati area on Sunday evening.

Police suspect that a broken hook attached to the zipline may have caused the fatal fall from a height of nearly 45 feet.

Boy was visiting park with family

According to reports, the teenager had visited the amusement park along with his family when the incident occurred.

Officials said the boy reportedly fell while using the zipline attraction inside the park premises.

He sustained severe injuries in the fall and was rushed for medical treatment, but could not be saved.

Police detain park staff

Police have taken two amusement park staff members into custody for questioning, including the park manager and the staff member responsible for safety supervision.

Himanshu Gaurav said authorities are investigating the exact cause of the incident.

Officials suspect a technical failure involving the zipline hook or safety mechanism.

Investigation underway

Police said the amusement park’s safety arrangements and maintenance procedures are now under scrutiny.

Authorities are also expected to examine whether proper safety checks and operating protocols were followed before allowing visitors onto the ride.

The incident has raised fresh concerns regarding amusement park safety standards and oversight of adventure activities involving children and teenagers.
