Kasargod: A resident of Ommassery in Karindalam has been awarded rigorous imprisonment for ten years and a fine of Rs 1 lac, by an additional district sessions court, for the sexual harassment of a minor girl. The convict, Sadashiva (45), has been directed to pay the fine of Rs 1 lac to the victim.
Sadashiva was convicted for an incident had happened on February 15, 2015, within the Nileshwar police station limits. Regarding the incident, the police had registered, investigated and filed a charge sheet with the court, following which, a case was booked against Sadashiva under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
The prosecution was represented by additional public prosecutor Prakash Ammannaya.
