Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa has been discharged from the hospital after being granted interim bail on medical grounds. Reports indicate that Darshan left the hospital without undergoing the planned surgery for his back injury, which had initially been scheduled. According to Bangalore Times, the “Challenging Star” exited the hospital without any surgical procedure.
Darshan, along with his co-accused, including alleged lover Pavithra Gowda, was granted bail by the Karnataka High Court on December 13, 2024, following careful consideration of both sides’ arguments. Previously, Darshan had received interim bail for six weeks to seek medical treatment for his back pain, but the surgery was postponed due to high blood pressure.
Upon his discharge, Darshan went directly to the City Civil Court to complete the legal formalities for his bail. He signed the necessary documents and fulfilled the court’s conditions before returning home. Despite being under significant pressure from both his health and legal situation, Darshan chose to prioritize fulfilling his bail requirements.
The actor has been in police custody since June 11, 2024, in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case. He is accused of orchestrating the murder of Renukaswamy after the victim allegedly sent derogatory messages about Pavithra Gowda, suggesting she was interfering with Darshan’s marriage. Darshan, Pavithra, and 15 others were arrested and have been facing legal proceedings since.
