A simple act of compassion by a Delhi man has touched millions online, after a video showing him helping a visually impaired couple and their child safely reach their destination went viral on social media.

Helping when others looked away

The video shows a blind couple with their young child stranded on a busy roadside, struggling to cross traffic and board a bus. While passersby hurried past, Mohammad Salman stopped to ask if they needed help.

When the visually impaired man said they were trying to reach a monastery near Kashmere Gate, Salman immediately arranged an autorickshaw. The man hesitated, worried about the fare, but Salman reassured him and paid the driver in full before sending the family on their way.

Captioning the video, Salman wrote: “Oh God, sorry for complaining about my life after seeing that.”

Internet responds with praise

The clip quickly struck a chord, crossing 1.2 million views and drawing hundreds of comments praising the act. Many users expressed admiration for Salman’s empathy, while others pointed out the lack of accessible public transport and assistance for persons with disabilities.

“God bless you for helping those in need,” wrote one user. Another commented, “We need better systems for specially-abled citizens. Until then, people like you make the difference.”

Social media turns kindness into support

Following the video’s popularity, Salman revealed that several users reached out to help the family financially. “They needed ₹5,500, but within a few hours, we raised more than that,” he wrote, thanking social media users for their generosity.

By ensuring the family reached their destination safely, Salman’s quiet gesture stood in sharp contrast to the surrounding indifference — a reminder that small acts of humanity can still make a big impact.
