New Delhi: Police in north Delhi have apprehended a 27-year-old notorious criminal hailing from Bihar, along with his associate, authorities reported on Friday.
The individual in question, Chandan Ram, is implicated in approximately two dozen cases involving murder, extortion, and land grabbing in Bihar. According to officials, Chandan was taken into custody on Thursday night by a specialized team from the Delhi Police’s Special Cell.
Upon confrontation by the police, both Chandan and his associate, Sundar, resorted to firing at the officers. However, law enforcement promptly subdued them without any casualties.
Authorities disclosed that Chandan had a bounty of Rs 50,000 on his head, as declared by the Motihari Police in Bihar. Additionally, Sundar has been linked to at least three criminal cases in Bihar.
Another official revealed that the duo frequently traveled from their base in Delhi to Noida, where they conducted operations, including making extortion calls in Bihar.
