New Delhi: Police reported discovering the body of a 25-year-old man suspended from the ceiling of a hotel room in central Delhi’s Paharganj on Thursday morning.
According to authorities, the body was located in a room at PK Hotel, and initial indications point to a possible suicide as the room was locked from the inside.
There was no suicide note recovered with the body, stated an officer.
The deceased, identified as Mohammad Qasim, resided with his family in the Indira Vihar area of east Delhi. His father is employed at a plastic pipe manufacturing factory, sources revealed.
Investigators shared that Qasim had informed his family on Wednesday of his intention to meet a friend, but instead, he checked into the hotel. He had requested the hotel staff to wake him at 6 am.
However, when the staff attempted to rouse him the following morning, they received no response. Subsequently, police and fire department personnel were notified. They forcibly entered the room and discovered Qasim’s body hanging from the ceiling.
