Delhi Police Destroy Drugs Worth ₹1,600 Cr

New Delhi: Delhi Police, in the presence of Delhi Lieutenant-Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, carried out the destruction of a significant quantity of drugs and contraband valued at ₹1,600 crore on Tuesday. This action was part of a concerted effort to combat the drug trade in the National Capital, with seizures dating back to the period between 2009 and 2023.

Taking to social media platform ‘X,’ LG Vinai Kumar Saxena announced the event, highlighting its significance in the context of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a “Nasha Mukt Bharat.” He commended the Delhi Police for their relentless efforts in curbing the drug menace and urged the youth to join the fight against it.

LG Saxena noted that this marked the third instance of drug destruction in Delhi within a span of 14 months, following previous events in December 2022 and June 2023. He reiterated his appreciation for the ongoing efforts of the Delhi Police in combating the issue and called upon the youth to remain steadfast in their resolve against drugs.
