In response to intelligence reports suggesting potential disruptions due to the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, the Delhi Police have increased security measures in the national capital. Concurrently, ‘Operation Ajay’ has begun, with the arrival of the first flight bringing back 212 Indian citizens from Israel. This report delves into the heightened security measures in Delhi and provides an overview of the government’s efforts to repatriate Indians affected by the conflict.

Enhanced Security Measures in Delhi

The Delhi Police have bolstered security measures in the national capital to address potential security concerns amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. Intelligence reports have raised concerns about possible disruptions and unrest that could impact the city.

A senior police official emphasized that they have increased their presence at key locations, maintaining constant vigilance to prevent any untoward incidents. This proactive approach aims to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and visitors in Delhi.

Moreover, the police have focused on safeguarding Jewish establishments within the city, recognizing the importance of protecting these places during periods of heightened tensions.

In the Central district’s Jama Masjid area, a flag march was conducted by the police as an additional measure to enhance public safety and security. Such visible displays of law enforcement presence can serve as deterrents and provide reassurance to the local community.

‘Operation Ajay’: Repatriating Indian Citizens

Meanwhile, the government has launched ‘Operation Ajay’ to repatriate Indian citizens affected by the Israel-Hamas conflict. This mission, aimed at bringing back Indians who wish to leave Israel, is a crucial initiative to ensure the safety and well-being of Indian nationals in the war-torn region.

The first flight under ‘Operation Ajay’ arrived in the national capital, Delhi, around 6 a.m. on a specific mission to repatriate Indian citizens. Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar was present at the airport to greet and interact with the returning students who had arrived from Tel Aviv.

A special flight carrying 212 Indian citizens had departed from Tel Aviv on Thursday, bound for Delhi. The government’s prioritization of bringing back Indians affected by the conflict underscores its commitment to the welfare of its citizens abroad.

Government’s Focus on Repatriation

Addressing concerns about the Israel-Hamas conflict, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi emphasized that the government’s primary focus is to bring back the approximately 18,000 Indians currently residing in Israel. This group includes Indian students and others who may have been affected by the escalating violence.

‘Operation Ajay’ represents a coordinated and essential effort to repatriate Indians from Israel and provide them with a safe return to their homeland. The government’s commitment to ensuring the well-being of its citizens abroad during times of crisis reflects its dedication to the welfare of its people.

The heightened security measures in Delhi and the initiation of ‘Operation Ajay’ underscore the government’s responsibility to safeguard Indian citizens and maintain the security of the national capital. As the Israel-Hamas conflict continues, these measures aim to provide reassurance and safety for residents and visitors while prioritizing the repatriation of Indians affected by the conflict. This proactive approach underscores the government’s commitment to the well-being of its citizens, both at home and abroad.
