Fire Breaks Out At Home Ministry Office, No Injuries Reported

New Delhi: A blaze erupted on the second floor of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) office situated in the north block on Tuesday, as per a statement from a fire department representative. The fire was swiftly attended to, with seven fire tenders dispatched to the location. By 9:35 am, the flames had been successfully extinguished, as confirmed by a senior official from the DFS.

The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) received notification of the incident, pinpointing the fire’s location on the second floor within the IC Division of the MHA office, at approximately 9:20 am. Prompt action led to containment by 9:35 am.

According to the official, the fire primarily affected a Xerox machine, several computers, and various documents. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

While Union Home Minister Amit Shah was not present in the building during the occurrence, several senior officers were on-site at the time of the incident.
