From CAA to Uniform Civil Code: Highlights of the BJP’s Manifesto

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party released its election manifesto “Sankalp Patra” for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls at the party headquarters in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Key Points from BJP Manifesto for 2024 Lok Sabha Elections:

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi assures continuation of the free ration scheme for the next five years.
  • The BJP pledges to work towards reducing electricity bills to zero for millions of families and generate income opportunities from electricity, citing the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme.
  • Modi highlights the success of the MUDRA Yojana in transforming millions into entrepreneurs, announcing an increase in loan limits from Rs 10 lakh to R20 lakh.
  • The BJP extends the coverage of the Ayushman Bharat scheme to include the transgender community.
  • Addressing healthcare concerns, Modi announces the inclusion of individuals above 75 years of age into the Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
  • Modi outlines plans to boost India’s 21st-century foundation through social, digital, and physical infrastructure development. This includes establishing new educational institutions, modernizing transportation networks, and expanding digital infrastructure to embrace technologies like 5G and 6G, positioning with Industry 4.0 initiatives.
  • The manifesto highlights the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act.
  • Implementation of Nyaya Sanhita nationwide.
  • Railway enhancements including reducing waiting lists and progressing bullet train projects in the Northeast.

  • Focusing on healthcare including treatment for cervical cancer, breast cancer, and osteoporosis.
  • Offering official Yoga certification to international individuals.

The Prime Minister handed over the first copies of ‘Sankalp Patra’ to the beneficiaries of the central government schemes.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, head of the 27-member manifesto committee said that they have received 15 lakh suggestions, and later screened them and held elaborated discussions, discussed the feasibility of the implementation of the suggestions.
