New Delhi: In the aftermath of the significant security breach at the Parliament on Wednesday, Mallikarjun Kharge, the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, has called for a meeting of the INDIA bloc floor leaders from both Houses on Thursday morning to discuss their response to the incident.

The INDIA bloc leaders are contemplating meeting President Droupadi Murmu to address the gravity of the situation.

Sources within the Congress revealed that Kharge has scheduled the INDIA bloc floor leaders’ meeting for 10 a.m. on Thursday to devise a strategy for dealing with the aftermath of the security breach.

The security breach in the Lok Sabha involved six individuals, two of whom, Sagar Sharma and D. Manoranjan, ignited yellow smoke canisters after leaping into the Lok Sabha chamber from the visitors’ gallery. They were subdued by the MPs present in the House.

The remaining culprits, Neelam Azad, and Amol Shinde, replicated the act outside the Parliament, raising slogans. Another individual, Lalit Jha, provided logistical support to the accused from his Gurugram residence. The sixth accused, Vicky Sharma, has been identified as well.

While five of the suspects have been apprehended, Lalit Jha remains at large.
