New Delhi: The investigation into the tragic death of 28-year-old model Tanya Singh, discovered hanging in her Surat residence, has taken a startling turn with a potential link to Indian Premier League (IPL) cricketer Abhishek Sharma. Two days after the incident, authorities are grappling with sparse leads in the perplexing case.

Assistant Commissioner of Police VR Malhotra revealed on Wednesday a possible friendship between Tanya Singh and Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Abhishek Sharma. Initial findings suggest a message was sent by the deceased model to Sharma via WhatsApp, which went unanswered.

“We have reason to believe that Abhishek Sharma was acquainted with the deceased model. Further details will emerge as the investigation progresses,” stated ACP Malhotra during a media briefing.

While the police have yet to contact Abhishek Sharma directly, they intend to issue him a notice for additional clarification. The circumstances surrounding the unanswered message and the nature of their relationship are pivotal aspects under scrutiny.

Reports from the Indian Express suggest that Abhishek Sharma had blocked Tanya Singh’s phone number and ceased responding to her messages on social media.

Abhishek Sharma, known as an all-rounder, is associated with the Sunrisers Hyderabad team in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Tanya Singh’s body was discovered by her father, Bhanwar Singh, on Monday morning when he attempted to wake her. The 28-year-old model and fashion designer, residing with her parents, had garnered a considerable following on various social media platforms.
