New Delhi: In honor of Makar Sankranti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi fed cows at his home in the nation’s capital on Sunday.
The Prime Minister is pictured on social media platforms feeding cows on his lawn at his 7, Lok Kalyan Marg home. The photos are going viral.
Dressed in his casual best, Prime Minister Modi was also seen petting the cows in one of the pictures.
In another photo, he can seen holding a tuft of grass around the cows.
According to Hindu custom, giving grass to cows on the auspicious Makar Sankranti day will bring them a great deal of blessings.
Prime Minister Modi also attended a cultural event earlier in the day that was held in honor of Pongal at Union Minister L Murugan’s home.
He greeted everyone during the event with the Pongal greetings, stating that the festival embodies the sentiment of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.’
