New Delhi :India’s 75th Republic Day was marked by a magnificent parade, blending tradition with innovation and inclusivity. Showcasing indigenous weaponry and highlighting women’s pivotal roles, this year’s festivities captivated the nation.
A notable departure from convention was the presence of an all-women tri-services contingent, representing the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Their march down the historic Kartavya Path symbolized the strides women have taken in the armed forces, echoing a message of gender inclusivity and empowerment.
Adding to the spectacle, 100 women artists showcased their musical talents with traditional Indian instruments, filling Kartavya Path with melodious tunes. The ‘Aavaahan’ ensemble, featuring 112 women musicians, showcased the strength and skill of women in a stirring performance.
Continuing the celebration of culture, the ‘Anant Sutra – The Endless Thread’ installation paid homage to the timeless saree, displaying 1,900 drapes from across India along Kartavya Path, a visual feast for spectators.
In a historic aviation moment, the Indian Air Force’s C-295 medium transport aircraft soared over Kartavya Path, joined by the indigenously-built Tejas aircraft, showcasing India’s aviation prowess.
President Droupadi Murmu led the nation’s celebrations from Kartavya Path in Delhi, emphasizing not just the commemoration of the past but also a bold step into the future, celebrating progress, unity, and resilience.
