New Delhi: Entrepreneur, husband of Congress leader, Robert Vadra has hinted at stepping into the political field with a likely making a debut from once considered Congress party’s fort Amethi in Uttar Pradesh.

His statement on Thursday evening, created ripples in the political pond, he expressed that “the people of Amethi expect me to represent them… if I decide to become an MP”.

Launching a scathing attack on Union Minister Smriti Irani, Vadra said she is only concerned with attacking Gandhi family, and not with ensuring the development of the constituency and it’s people’s well-being.

He said that people of Amethi are regretting their choice of electing her. Vadra said, the Gandhi family worked tirelessly in Raebareli, another stronghold of the party in UP, Sultanpur and Amethi, the people of the constituency are troubled by the current MP.

“When the people of Amethi feel they have made a mistake, when they feel they want the Gandhi family to come back or if they want me… then they will give a big win to the Congress,” added.

He said the family discuss about the politics taking place today, and how the nation is changing. “ Let’s see what happens ahead,” said Vadra.

The son-in-law of Sonia Gandhi in 2019 just before the general election had stated that he would refrain from entering the active politics until he cleared of all the charges in the ongoing corruption charges.
