Charamajnagar: In a unique initiative aimed at raising awareness among the booze lovers about their voting rights, officials from the Excise Department in Charamajnagar have adopted an unconventional approach.
Across bars and restaurants in the city, noticeable boards have been pasted on the walls to remind patrons of the upcoming Lok Sabha election dates and the importance of their votes while they enjoy their drinks or spend leisure time.
According to the sources, the district has an estimated 5 lakh booze lovers, and their active participation in the biggest festival of the democracy is crucial.
To ensure they go out and vote compulsorily, the department has strategically placed these informative posters in every bar throughout the district.
Additionally, officials are closely monitoring bars and restaurants owned by politicians, overseeing liquor stocks and sales to prevent any election-related irregularities.
