Chamarajanagar: In a heart-wrenching incident, a mother and her two children lost their lives while washing clothes at the Gopinatham reservoir in Gopinath Gram Panchayat limits in Hanur Taluk, in Chamarajanagar district on Friday.
The deceased have been identified as Meena (33), Pavitra (13), and Kirthi (12) from Puduoor village. According to reports, the accident occurred when Meena accidentally slipped into the water while she was washing clothes. In a brave attempt to rescue their mother, Pavitra and Kirthi jumped into the water and drowned alongside her. Mahadeshwara Betta police rushed to the spot immediately, and the bodies were fished out from the water.
