Ravi Kana, notorious for his involvement in the scrap metal underworld, along with his accomplice and girlfriend Kajal Jha, has been apprehended in Thailand. The Noida Police, collaborating closely with Thai authorities, facilitated his capture, aided by a red corner notice issued against him in January.
Kana, alias Ravindra Nagar, orchestrated a lucrative empire through illegal acquisition and sale of scrap materials, amassing a fortune. His criminal endeavors spanned multiple cases, including extortion, kidnapping, and theft, with a gang of 16 members under his command.
Authorities have confiscated assets exceeding ₹120 crore linked to Kana and his associates, underscoring the magnitude of his illicit operations. Notably, a lavish South Delhi bungalow worth ₹100 crore, gifted to Jha, was among the seized properties.
Jha, initially seeking employment, quickly ascended within Kana’s syndicate, assuming a pivotal role in managing their clandestine assets. The crackdown signifies a significant blow to organized crime networks exploiting the scrap metal trade in the Delhi-NCR region.
