Banda, UP: The electrical department building of the Banda district is in such a pathetic state that the employees wear helmets at work and sometimes also under umbrellas.
While the pillars of the building may be still OK, the plaster on the ceiling has been chipping off. The employees come to work prepared for the possibility that they may be hit by the falling debris and to ward off the eventualities, they wear a helmet at work.
With the problem of roof leakage at several spots, the employees work wearing their helmets under umbrellas when it rains.
Employees have reportedly been grumbling about having to work in such conditions and they do not have any assurance as yet of repairs of the building being taken up. Since the department does not have enough drawers and cupboards files and other documents as reported placed in cardboard cartons.
Images are circulating on the social media of the conditions of the office. NDTV states that no senior officer was ready to comment on this.
