Fire at West Delhi restaurant sparks panic; students jump to safety

A fire broke out on Monday in the Jungle Jamboree restaurant near Rajouri Garden Metro Station, forcing students from an institute in the same building to jump to safety. Authorities reported one person suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized.

The fire was reported at 2:01 PM, prompting the dispatch of 10 fire tenders. No casualties have been reported, and the cause of the fire is still unknown. Thick smoke engulfed the area, creating chaos among shopkeepers and passersby.

Eyewitnesses shared videos of over 25 people leaping from the restaurant’s open seating area to a nearby building’s terrace. Police confirmed the building houses multiple establishments, including shops and the MAAC Rajouri institute.

The vicinity has been cordoned off for firefighting, and the fire is now under control. Authorities are ensuring everyone present during the incident is accounted for.
