New Delhi: IndiGo’s six-month ban on Indian comedian Kunal Kamra has sparked debates and memes alike. There is also a marked divide between those who support the comedian and those who condemn his behaviour with TV journalist Arnab Goswami.
Considering the fact that other airlines such as Air India, SpiceJet and GoAir have also banned Kamra, even though the was not their passenger when the incident occurred, has led to many people attacking the other airlines, specifically Air India.
“Dear Air India: In your exuberance to kiss political boots, you forgot that you come under the RTI Act. Pls keep all the required papers ready to justify how you can do this under law (when he wasn’t even a passenger). I’m going to examine EACH one of those papers,” one Twitter user said in response to the airline’s ban.

Another user, through a joke, hinted to the day a rat was found on board an Air India flight.

Reportedly, an AI flight at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport in Varanasi that was taxing on the runway had to be brought back after some passengers saw a rat moving about the aircraft. The flight was cancelled as, according to aviation norms, an aircraft cannot be allowed to take off with a rodent on board as there is a possibility that it might bite into the wiring, interfering with the flight’s functioning.
The incident occurred on Sunday, January 26.
According to reports, the flight was deboarded and a hunt for the rat began, however, the rodent was nowhere to be found. When the rat remained elusive after two more searches, the inside of the aircraft was sprayed with pesticide to ensure that the rodent did not make it out alive. Following the incident, the aircraft remained closed for a 12-hour period.
