Five Arrested in Bengaluru for Dangerous Bike Stunts and Sword Display
Bengaluru police have arrested five youths for performing dangerous bike stunts and brandishing swords in public in the DJ Halli and Ramamurthy Nagar areas. The suspects have been identified as Nayeem, Arafat, Sahil, Nanjamat, and Adnan. Their arrests followed a viral video that captured them carrying out reckless acts while riding bikes, including wielding swords. The video, filmed by another rider, was widely shared, prompting swift action from the Bengaluru City Police to apprehend the individuals involved.
The incident has attracted significant political attention, with the BJP criticizing Karnataka’s Home Minister Dr. G Parameshwara for his handling of the situation. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the BJP raised concerns about the state government’s response, questioning whether the perpetrators would be excused as “mentally unstable” or if it was merely an “accident.”
Further investigation revealed that the group was recording social media reels while engaging in dangerous behavior. A case has been filed under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act, with ongoing investigations to determine further details.
The controversy has also sparked public outcry, highlighting concerns about safety and law enforcement in Bengaluru. In another viral incident, a Bengaluru traffic police officer was threatened and verbally abused by a car driver during a traffic jam.
