Mangaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation for 1,406 projects worth Rs. 80,000 Crore during the UP Investors Summit’s Ground Breaking ceremony. Agriculture and allied, IT and electronics, MSME, Manufacturing, Renewable Energy, Pharma, Tourism, Defence and Aerospace, Handloom and Textiles are among the projects.
Speaking on the occasion Prime Minister Narendra Modi informed the country’s top industrialists on Friday June 3 that he was ready to carry out necessary reforms in any sector for the development of Uttar Pradesh and the development of an “Atmanirbhar Bharat.”
“Uttar Pradesh, I believe, will provide momentum for India’s 21st-century growth story. Uttar Pradesh will be a main driving force for India in the next ten years,” said Modi.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Gautam Adani of the Adani Group, Kumar Mangalam Birla of the Aditya Birla Group, Niranjan Hiranandani of Hiranandani Communities, and Matthieu Eyries of Air Liquide of Paris were present during the event.
Modi lauded investors for believing in the “power of UP’s youth,” who he said will be the “biggest beneficiaries” of the investment. “Thousands of jobs will be created in the state as a result of this record investment. Along with India, it shows the increasing trust in the country’s and Uttar Pradesh’s growth story. It is UP that will give momentum to India’s growth story in the 21st century,” he said.
“We are the fastest growing among the G-20 economies. Today, India is in the second position on the Global Retail Index. India is the third-largest energy consumer country in the world,” PM Modi said. He also informed that during the last tenure of his government unemployment rate in the state has reduced from 18 per cent to 2.9 per cent.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assured the investors that their money would not only be secure in the state but that they will also benefit from the Government’s investment-friendly policies. He said that the State Government has faced many challenges in recent years, but that his government has not only protected the lives and livelihoods of the people of the state but has also continued to work on attracting investment and turning it into reality.
