It’s that time of the year, where students aspiring to enter into the fields of engineering and medicine take out their books and cram answers as the COMEDK UGET has opened the doors to receive applications for 2024.
Students now have three months to get themselves ready to face the test, which will happen this year on May 12th. Students registering without taxes will have to pay a fee of Rs. 1,800 to appear for the test this year.
However, those aspiring to enter both the medical and engineering programs will have to pay double as they will not get the privilege of a convenience fee. The fee for students in this category is 2,950.
Students can apply for the test online by visiting comedk.org and filling in the application form. They can then upload the necessary documents and make an online payment. The confirmation page will then appear on screen for them to print.
This is an exam of three hours within which students will have to answer 180 questions relating to physics, math and chemistry. The paper will be divided into three sections respectively with each question carrying one mark.
However, those planning to enter the streams of engineering and medicine will see a different exam pattern. Either ways, students can guess the answers they are not familiar with as they won’t lose any marks for the wrong answer.
That said, the total marks that a student gets in the end, will only depend on the total number of right answers that he gives in the test.
The wrong answers will only be considered if there are two students at the top coming up with the same score. Perhaps that makes it wiser for students who are well prepared and confident on having answered well to leave out the few questions that they are unfamiliar with. In addition to that, the center may also resort to a few other methods if they have to settle a tie.
